"I felt like crying but nothing came out. it was just a sort of sad sickness, sick sad, when you can't feel any worse. I think you know it. I think everybody knows it now and then. but I think I have known it pretty often, too often."
— Charles Bukowski (Tales of Ordinary Madness)
As the sun set I just couldn't outrun my shadow... I found a place to hide away and stretch my bones. Take a look deeper into those scary places we dare not go. Came out, "right as rain"... If you consider the thunder storms. Polishing my trophies that carry the printed names of other people.. other winners. So, I swallow something... pride.. guilt... sadness... love... death and all that bullshit that owns us on every level. Fastening on my "Shit Eating Grin", I get down to the business of living.
Arcade Fire last night.... my god. What an absolutely amazing show!
and that's just a weeeeee sample. My son, Gabriel had an amazing time. Dancing and singing even also appearing on a gigantic screen behind the band for 30 seconds as well, with a small cameo by me of course because i was holding him. And at the end of the show Win Butler, Arcade Fire's primary singer pointed at my little boy and threw him a tambourine. Just amazing.. how cool is that?
My little man enjoying the show.
He even scored The Captain a guitar pick from the stage by asking a security guard if he could go backstage and talk to the band. The security guard felt bad so he gave Gabriel a guitar pick from stage. But Gabriel was like "Dad you can have the guitar pick I have a tambourine from Arcade Fire". Such a sweet boy...
how is he my son again?
;) ;) ;)
Love zee Captain.
p.s. When more folk post video and images of the show I will add more links on this ever loving blog here.
The above picture has absolutely "nothing" to do with today's post....
it just makes me giggle like a 13 year old and that my friends...
is a groovy feeling. (see! a smiley face!!!) -----> :)
are you feeling ok?
and i can feel... one of my turns coming on..
"one of my turns by" Pink Floyd
Day after day, love turns grey
Like the skin of a dying man.
Night after night, we pretend its all right
But I have grown older and
You have grown colder and
Nothing is very much fun any more.
And I can feel one of my turns coming on. I feel cold as a razor blade,
Tight as a tourniquet,
Dry as a funeral drum.
Run to the bedroom,
In the suitcase on the left
You'll find my favorite axe.
Don't look so frightened
This is just a passing phase,
One of my bad days.
Would you like to watch T.V.?
Or get between the sheets?
Or contemplate the silent freeway?
Would you like something to eat?
Would you like to learn to fly?
Would'ya?
Would you like to see me try?
Would you like to call the cops?
Do you think it's time I stopped?
Why are you running away?
i am a wee bit afraid that i may have lost my passion for life. you know "nothing is very much fun anymore"?
most... not all but, most things i enjoyed before seem to be lacking fun. like the color from my world has been drained. everything is black, white and grey. plus being a big lonely fuck probably doesn't help with my shitty disposition. at least i can still laugh... at myself. By the way, I have an OK Cupid profile.. and since "nobody" will talk to me there, i figured i would just link this lovely blog right on my profile for OK Cupid, so all these lovely ladies can see just who The Captain "really" is.. an overly emotional whiny 30 something writer who blogs poetry and complaints. So... ahem... maybe a poeeem or two tomorrow hmmm?-
So... Just to show you exactly how silly i am (and by silly i mean "bi-polar)
i wrote the above paragraph after a pretty depressing day at work with the aid of a stomach ache.
and now... hours later... i am not so "doom and gloom".
god only knows what strange ass mood awaits at 3:30a.m. my daily wake up time... not on purpose mind you. i am just a nut and wake up almost every day at 3:30a.m. yep.
So this is my "puny" current "hit's" list for my lovely little blog here:

So...
Apparently... Most people that are blindly stumbling onto this Blog are from the Good Ol' U.S.A.! Go figure right? Then almost a "hefty" 200 from Canadia... almost. With the U.K. Trailing straight behind. Listen I could go on and on but what really makes me sad is that in many years of writing on this Blog/thing only 41 hit's from Japan? I wrote a damn poem called "I left my heart in aokigahara forest".... Ah it's cool. I can give em' a break... this time... ;)
